I Keep Leaving Stuff Out

If you are nerdy enough to like roleplaying, there's a chance you probably are nerdy enough to like anime as well, and vice versa. A while ago when that guy I know was visiting me, he showed me something that may appeal to the rare folks that exist in that unique intersection. Brian Perry (an individual whom I watched get a Macross tattoo, so you know he's devoted), wrote Random Anime, and it looks pretty neat. Of course, I've never carefully examined or played BESM, but this new book does look like it could be a challenger, if it gets enough of a following.

Oh Yeah, and I Can't Forget

...That George Sessum posted about the abandon of dancing and music. Yes. The more I read this guy, the more I see why Jeneane likes the fella so much. Beautiful.

Playing Catch-Up

The lovely Ms. Mamatha invited me to be a part of her writing group, and I'm frankly a little torn. It'd be nice to be in a writing community again, but a) have trouble with the blogger format for that (in this case, something like After Dinner, which I think stwc pointed me to at one point is a much better format), and b) more importantly, I don't even post poems on my own site anymore. The Geek Icon is sadly neglected, and cries into its pillow at night when it thinks I'm asleep and can't hear it. Maybe involvement in a writing group would actually help, but from where I'm sitting at the moment, it just seems like it'll draw more time away from my current focus, which includes re-programming ARJLog, working on a system for Mr Wiggins' lit survey, and adding the few finishing touches to the Blogsticker Factory that I think would make it really keen. Not to mention the fact that I'm already committed to Blogsisters, just joined in with the mediAgora crowd, and that's just my online/ computing stuff.

Speaking of mediAgora, there's an excellent back-and-forth going on there between Mr Marks and Mr Norlin. If you're at all interested in digital media and digital rights, go see what they've started delving into. The discussion starts here.

Yesterday I finished climbing practice with Dave the Network Admin. I learned how to do a changeover while hanging on the rope and how to rappel down rope. Both skills will be necessary for the trip I'm taking tomorrow, to Hellhole Cave near Snoqualmie (isn't that a great name?). I'm looking forward to my first official spelunking experience (guided tours through Carlsbad Caverns not qualifying). But first, a quick trip to REI to buy a head lamp. I'll be bringing my camera along, so hopefully will have some good pictures of the trip. And yes, I know, I'll be careful.
