And Sometimes it's Just a Swift Kick in the--
So anyone who knows me vaguely well at this point is probably aware that I'm trying to move to Australia. This process began somewhere around November of last year, when my job skills were assessed and found suitable. When I actually applied for a permanent residency visa in March, I was under the impression that the application process would take about 6 months or so, due to the fact that IT-related skills were on the fast track.
And then DIMA decided it wanted to hurt me. Why do you make me suffer, DIMA? Why? I don't know why, but I do know that I'm not on the fast track anymore. I may not find out any results on my visa application until March 2003. Meanwhile, my life gets both more complicated to manage and more stagnant. Meanwhile meanwhile, Mr Wiggins and I continue to get more and more frustrated with this whole being apart idea. I mean, the bloke and I have known each other for two years last August, and we've never been able to spend more than 5 weeks together at a pop. It ought to be time to move things along.
So, as if that's not enough, as I wander around on Blogdex earlier today, I find this smack in the face. Not fair! Not fair!
[The following temper tantrum, involving stomping, screaming, kicking, tears, and broken inanimate objects was cut due to its highly objectionable nature.]
What's she got that I don't? Which immigration officials did she bribe? How come she gets to be with her Snookums and I can't be with my WeirdArms? I don't get it! Usually I'm not a fatalistic person, but this is pushing me close to the edge.
OK, so I'm being melodramatic (and tongue-in-cheek). It is frustrating, though. But also in the links department, I found Vivid, which I find really fascinating. I've long wanted to put up more of a writer's journal online, but I want it to be perhaps slightly more structured than simply in a blog format. I at least want to be able to organize items by projects. But it'll be a little while before I can get that launched. Anyway, good journal, interesting poetry. Worth a read. Plus I like those cool swirly graphics. I wonder where they came from?
